Takeover Day: young people from Lysychansk visited the Youth Center
“Being a youth worker is interesting and cool! – says Halyna, a youth worker at the Luhansk Regional Youth Center. We always try to be on the same wave with young people: we keep in touch with young people, organize joint events, play cool games, and hold competitions. This approach is called “peer to peer”. This helps us to direct the activities of the Youth Center in response to the needs of young people.”
At the end of the event, young people exchanged contacts with youth workers and discussed opportunities for further cooperation.
“Working in a youth center has a lot to do with employment in the NGO: you get experience in implementing national and international programs and projects, improve communication skills, meet different people – says Vladyslav, a member of the NGO “Svitlo Kultury”. I am glad that today we met our colleagues, because they have something to learn. ”
Takeover Day is an initiative designed to give young people the opportunity to participate in making decisions that concern them. This is a chance for young people to get to know professionals and their daily responsibilities, to be involved and to understand the processes that take place around them.
The Day of the Future Specialist is part of “YOUNG CITIZENS – Community Engagement in East Ukraine” Project, which is implemented by Terre des hommes Ukraine within the project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) “Democratic Governance in Eastern Ukraine”, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
